Looking to buy bunny food in the Virginia Beach area? Both All Pet stores have made some major changes, one of which can be seen in the photo. Upton Drive's General Manager Penny Lazauskas is a wildlife rehabber who is more than familiar with the dangers of feeding live animals to snakes.
Unfortunately, not all pet stores believe in this policy. There was a recent incident in Virginia where an older, female lop-ear rabbit was found sitting in a back room destined to be food for a snake. Upon being rescued, the bunny soon gave birth to a feisty little brown rabbit who already has a home waiting for her. Should you know of any pet stores that are inhumane in their treatment or sale of any animals, please contact kcalabro1@cox.net All information will be kept confidential. |
